Extended market analysis for a specific business question

How SOLARA finds, combines and validates open, industry, paid and client data for non-standard research decisions.

Not every business question can be answered with a standard metric set. Search demand may decide one market; another may depend on imports, tenders, licences, property costs, hiring, mobility, marketplace ranges or competitor technology stacks.

SOLARA’s extended analysis therefore does not begin with a preselected source list. It begins with a question: what evidence should exist in the world if this market opportunity is real?

We then find those traces, assess their reliability and assemble an evidence-based picture.

The standard package provides the foundation

Our core methodology covers search and AI demand, social trends, direct and adjacent semantics, competitors and their acquisition channels, open industry data, SWOT and recommendations. This is sufficient for many decisions.

A specialised product, narrow industry or complex investment scenario may need another layer.

An extended network of sources and semantic relationships

Sources that can extend the analysis

Public and international open data

Company registers, licences, permits, court records and statistics on population, income, business activity, construction, transport, healthcare, education and trade can reveal market structure beyond digital demand.

Procurement and contracts

Public tenders, buyers, winners, categories, budgets and purchasing frequency reveal B2G or B2B demand, supplier concentration and entry requirements.

Trade, imports and assortment

Customs statistics, distributors, marketplaces, SKU ranges, prices, availability and reviews help size physical product markets where search volume captures only one part of activity.

Jobs and workforce signals

Demand for roles, skills, technologies, salary ranges and hiring geographies can indicate sector momentum, competitor investment and the adoption of new processes.

Maps, locations and mobility

Outlet counts, ratings, competitive density, accessibility, neighbourhood traffic and catchment characteristics matter in retail, clinics, education, hospitality and other local models.

Where open data leave a critical gap, we can add licensed industry reports, professional databases, media monitoring, advertising libraries and commercial APIs with the client’s approval.

The client’s internal data

CRM, sales, web analytics, inquiries, loss reasons, order geography and product metrics can be connected to the external market. This reveals both the opportunity and the specific company’s ability to capture it.

More data and sources create a fuller market picture

No single source can describe an entire market. Search demand, questions asked of AI systems, social trends, competitor traffic, registers, industry reports and client data each reveal a different part of the picture. Combining more relevant datasets and independent perspectives gives us a more accurate view of demand, audience behaviour, competition, risks and opportunities.

To combine these data correctly in one analysis, we assess every source against three criteria:

  1. Relevance: does the measure answer the business question?
  2. Reliability: who created it, how is it defined, and what period does it cover?
  3. Comparability: can geographies, segments and sources be compared fairly?

These criteria do not narrow the research. They allow us to connect more information without distorting it. We distinguish observed facts, estimates, indirect indicators and interpretation, then cross-check them against one another. When independent sources point in the same direction, the conclusion becomes substantially stronger and more reliable.

What SOLARA contributes

Our expertise is not simply tool access. We define the model, locate sources, build semantics, clean and normalise data, verify definitions, compare signals and explain the business consequence.

The output may be a segment estimate, supplier map, pricing or procurement study, proxy-demand model, country comparison, investment scenario or monitoring system.

Any extension is agreed transparently: source availability, licensing cost, effort and expected effect on the decision. We do not add a paid database merely to make a report look more complex.

Frequently asked questions

Can you use our internal data?

Yes, where access and use are agreed and secure. We define the necessary aggregation level and connect internal signals to the external market context.

Are paid sources always required?

No. We first test whether the source provides a unique answer. A well-designed combination of open data is often sufficient. Paid access is justified when it closes a critical gap.

What if direct data do not exist?

We build a proxy model from independent indirect signals, document assumptions and state the confidence range. That is more useful than inventing a precise number without evidence.

See the SOLARA methodology for the core process and the example report for the output structure.

A market rarely exists in one ready-made table. We find the data from which it can be assembled for your decision.
